        Sole arbitrator in disputes arising out of the development and construction of the Hyatt Regency Waikoloa Resort project

        (US $300,000,000.00). 

        Multiple claims regarding defective design and construction were asserted between the owner, developer,

        general contractor, prime sub-contractor, architect, design consultants, suppliers, and sub-contractors.

        Multiple issues were involved concerning different aspects of this large resort development,

        including but not limited to claims concerning water quality, mechanical equipment failure, boatway design,

         pool tile failure, petroleum spillage, accounting and insurance claims. Multiple multi-million dollar claims involving

         different parties were addressed in separate phases of this arbitration. 

         

        Arbitrator since 1978 of construction industry disputes involving design, construction and material failure claims i

         Hawaii, Guam and the mainland United States.

        Other arbitration cases have included various commercial contract and real property disputes, resort hotel management

        contract and accounting disputes as well as labor-management grievance arbitrations.

         

        Mediator of construction design deficiency claim concerning a government water treatment facility.

        This mediation involved multiple parties, including the government agency, design professional firms,

        the general contractor, sub-contractor, supplier and surety.

         

        Mediator of numerous and varied, simple, complex and multi-party construction and design deficiency cases since

        1984 ranging from single family residential, condominium, subdivision, industrial, commercial, high-rise

         and public works projects in Hawaii,

        Guam and the mainland United States.

         

        Mediator and co-mediator of hotel/resort contract disputes, hotel ground lease controversies following hurricane damage

        and conflict between municipal mayor and county council. Mediator of labor and employment discharge,

         discrimination and harassment claims, family business and professional liability matters.

         

        Mediator of double wrongful death action, Koror, Palau.
